Short term workshops will be organised from time to time for those with special interests in preventing and detecting crime in their immediate working environment as well as in their personal lives. The first in the series of these workshops are

WORKSHOP 1

This is a three (3) day programme with the theme "Advanced Free Fraud and Theft/Fraud at the Work Place - Employee Fraud and Its Prevention"

Participants will be taken through topics such as:

  • Factors that facilitate Workplace Fraud.
  • Common types of Advanced Fee Fraud.
  • Psychological factors that facilitate Advanced Fee Fraud.
  • Various strategies for their prevention.

    WORKSHOP 2

    This is a two (2) day programme with the theme "Detection of Deception and Computer Fraud".

Participants will be led through the following :

  • Non verbal behaviour and deception.
  • Specific non-verbal cues to deceit.
  • Detection of deception.
  • Basic threats to computers.
  • Computer fraud classifications.
  • Detecting Computer Fraud.
  • Preventing Computer Fraud.

    RESOURCE PERSONS

    Resource persons will include experts with long years of experience in investigating and preventing these types of crimes.

    Top management personnel who have oversight responsibility of any type; especially where the nature of the operations lend themselves to potentials abuse by employees.

    BENEFITS TO PARTICIPANTS
  • Management will be equipped with some necessary basic skills and tools for the detection and prevention of such crimes.

  • Reduction in time spent in the investigation of such crimes after they might have been committed.
